the Harpie:
A Harpie is a woman with the wings and legs of a large bird of prey. They usually have fangs and rotten breath that smells of decay. They may be found in some books as guards of the dead. For example: In the The Amber Spyglass, they keep the dead imprisoned so they can't be free and move on to the afterlife.
Harpies are cruel creatures and are very dangerous. They have large talons and a terrible earsplitting scream, when, if needed, they can use to summon other, more powerful demons, like Cerberus, the giant three headed, three tailed dog that guards the underworld in greek mythology.
